A one-person studio making considered apps in the margins of a full life. A job, a family, church, and whatever hours are left after all of it.

Each app is made because it felt worth making — a small act of creativity, in the hope it might touch someone's day. Read more about the studio →

Prayerful

Prayerful

The door is always open — a quiet companion for daily prayer. One gentle prompt each day, a moment with God, and something to carry back into the world.

Spiritual iOS & Android Coming soon
Prayerful — the door is always open
It is not a Bible study tool or a content platform. It is a quiet companion — a single gentle prompt each day, space to pray without hurry, and a piece of scripture or reflection to ease you back into ordinary time.

The name comes from a posture, not a programme. The subtitle — Selah — is a Hebrew pause marker woven through the Psalms. A breath. A moment to stop and be present. That is all Prayerful asks of you.

How it works

Every session has three moments, each with its own shape:

Design and tradition

Prayerful draws on the same instincts as Surface — negative space, gentleness, absence of pressure or gamification. The design language is identical: warm near-white in light mode, deep candlelit brown in dark mode. Two apps that feel like the same quiet room.

The content draws from Catholic, Protestant, Anglican, Reformed, and contemplative voices — explicitly Christian, not bound to any single tradition. Content includes prompts in four translations (NIV, ESV, NRSV, KJV), scripture, quotes from theologians across the centuries, and original lines.

What it doesn't do

No streaks. No badges. No red days. No leaderboards. No pressure. The Practice screen is a dot grid — a quiet mirror of what you've done, not a dashboard of what you haven't. The app is designed so that after months of daily use, it still feels fresh and nourishing.

Pricing

Free, permanently. There is an optional in-app purchase to support the studio — framed as supporting the ministry of the app, not as a transaction.

Privacy policy coming at launch.

Surface

Surface

A calm daily habit for keeping your home's surfaces clear. One small act, offered gently, every day.

Surface — a daily tidying companion

What it is

Surface is not a cleaning app. It is not a task manager. It is a quiet companion — offering one small, intentional act each day. Return something to where it belongs. Clear one surface. Nothing more.

The design draws from Swedish lagom (just the right amount) and Japanese kanso (simplicity). Every screen is an argument for the habit it is trying to build.

What it doesn't do

No badges. No leaderboards. No streaks. No notifications you didn't ask for. No data collected. Surface is designed so that over time, you need it less. That is success, not failure.

Made in the
small hours between.

There's a particular quality to the hours after the house goes quiet. That's where most of this was built — after work, after family, after church. In the margins. Hence the name.

I'm a developer and designer. I work a full-time job, I'm married to Caroline, we have a three-year-old, and faith is a significant part of how I move through the world. The studio grew out of all of that — not despite it.

The things I make tend to be small and considered. I'm drawn to apps that do one thing well, that feel unhurried, that treat the person using them with some respect. I don't start a project because there's a gap in the market. I start one because something feels genuinely worth making — a small act of creativity I hope might land in someone's life and mean something.

I build for Android, iOS, and Steam, using Godot. I design everything myself. Caroline is involved in concept and testing — she has better instincts than me about whether something actually feels good to use.

If you want to get in touch — about an app, a bug, or anything else — [email protected] is the right place.
